Welcome to the Apex Engineers blog! To kick things off, we thought we would give a quick rundown of the basics, covering our history, the services we provide, and what we're all about here at Apex. A peek behind the curtain if you will. 👀
So, here's the 411 on Apex Engineers:
How it all began:
Apex Engineers, Inc. was established in 2003 with three employees. Founding Principals Bryce Crady, Clayton Hess, and Terry Barton began work out of a hotel in Merriam, KS. From there, Apex began growing and hasn't stopped since!
In 2012, Apex moved their offices to Downtown Kansas City's Crossroads Arts District.
With work picking up in the Denver market, Apex opened a new office and its second location in Denver, CO in 2014. Under Principal Jared Lambrecht's leadership, Denver's office has grown exponentially, and today has 17 employees.
Just the next year, Apex opened another location with a new office in Lawrence, KS. Principal Michael Brunnin and his team enjoy serving clients in Eastern and Central Kansas from that office.
In 2018, Apex renovated a 100-year-old building for their new headquarters in the Crossroads.
This leads us to this year, where Apex celebrated 20 years of engineering in 2023! Since opening, Apex has:
Completed 45,000+ projects
Grown to a team of 52
Acquired licenses in 42 states
Obtained 21 certifications spanning both residential and commercial special inspections services
And we're not even close to done! Apex is always evolving, and we are so excited to see what the future has in store.
What we do:
As for the types of projects we take on, the sky is the limit. We have experience ranging from single-family homes to office renovations, and we even designed the KC Current Training Facility.
Bottom line: We help buildings stand. Pretty cool right? 🏢
What drives us:
Founded with the vision of creating an engineering firm that provides excellent work in-hand with unmatched client service, we put this philosophy at the forefront of everything we do.
A team of diverse, talented, and dedicated individuals, we are committed to providing quality engineering services while holding high ethical standards. Our clients are our greatest partners and highest priority, and we strive to do everything in our power to maintain the vision of the project.
At Apex, we challenge, encourage, and celebrate one another's accomplishments. When we're not engineering, you can find us golfing, playing in our rec sand volleyball league, attending local trivia nights, competing in local races (we're looking at you, Denver office), playing darts, or drinking craft beer.
Now you know the basics! Follow along for more project spotlights, thought leadership, Apex happenings, and all the fun structural engineering content you've been waiting for.
