White Iron Ridge Event Space
Apex provided structural design for this scenic, barn-style event space. The grand ballroom showcases impressive 40-foot arched ceilings, elevated loft balconies, and a double iron staircase. ​

KC Current Academy Building
The newest addition to the KC Current Training Complex, the Academy Building houses locker rooms, showers, training rooms, a meeting room, and a rooftop deck. Our team provided the structural design and special inspections for this building.

KC Current Training Facility

Apex provided the structural engineering design for the KC Current Training Facility, the first purpose-built training complex for a women’s professional sports team in the United States. Apex oversaw the structural design plans for the cardio and weight centers, training room, locker room, meeting rooms, and rooftop deck. Constructed with glulam beans and columns and cross-laminated timber floor and roof panels, it is the largest mass timber project in the Kansas City area. Apex also provided the special inspections for this complex.

Roth Trailhead
Apex Engineers donated the consulting time needed for this project of the School of Architecture, Design, and Planning at the University of Kansas. Apex oversaw the structural design for this rammed earth structure at the beginning of the Roth Trailhead. The project includes the wall, canopy, and an outdoor classroom. In April of 2013, this project was featured as the Kansas Building of the Week by American-Architects.

Travois Deck
During the year long project, Apex prepared the construction drawings for the rooftop deck and solar canopy, special inspections, and on-site consultation. The solar canopy was designed to provide for the entirety the buildings energy needs. The entire system is suspended above the existing roof plane and included working with custom fabricated steel tube trusses.

Blue Valley Rec
Design services for the renovations to this shelter at the Blue Valley Recreation Center. Complex site conditions required several site visits by our engineers. In the field, Apex provided consultation regarding steel repair for support column and the addition of masonry veneers to the existing columns.
