Danforth Chapel
The structural design for Danforth Chapel, located on the University of Kansas campus in Lawrence, Kansas presented a special opportunity for the many KU alums at Apex Engineers. For the renovation of this chapel, built in 1946, Apex provided plans for the foundation, ceiling and roof. Field services included on-site consultations of existing conditions within the building. The new addition and renovation helped to modernize and update the old church with air conditioning, ADA compliance with a new entry vestibule off southeast corner, as well as new men’s and women’s bathrooms, and a bridal suite.
